Manon (Mo) Roderick

Sales and Concept Lead

Manon has worked in custom residential construction for over 32 years. This has provided her with extensive experience and many skill sets. Her unique specialties are focused on guiding and advising clients in identifying and prioritizing their specific needs and desires and how those needs relate to the design and construction of their new home or the transformation of their existing home.

Manon excels at coordinating the design process and plan development and customizing the results for each unique client. She has experience with LEED certification and Green Building and is a licensed real estate agent. In the past, Manon has been recognized on a state level as the Salesperson of the Year with the Maryland Homebuilder Association.

Outside of work, Manon is passionately devoted to service work in her local community, specifically directed towards addiction and families of addiction.

Meghan Wagoner

Design and Selections Coordinator

Growing up as the daughter of a builder, Meghan learned to swing a hammer early in life and passed time as a child watching, learning, and participating in everything from small home projects to major renovations to new home builds. The construction process cultivated a great sense of accomplishment as she was able to tangibly contribute to the improvements that were made to her family’s home. That shared passion of renovation and improvement and hand-crafted projects continued into adulthood, and Meghan and her dad have been known to buy each other the same power tools for Christmas, each thinking the other could use an upgrade!

Meghan graduated from the University of Virginia and spent several years in her husband’s hometown of Pittsburgh working as a registered nurse, starting a family, and renovating her own 150-year-old farm home. After moving back home to Northern Virginia in early 2019, she decided to turn her renovation experience into a new career and joined the Matthew Bowe Design Build Team. She loves helping clients design homes with unique and creative details that will improve their quality of life and enjoys expanding her skillset to accommodate the ever-changing needs of a small business. She has a particular affinity for renovation and the unique solutions that can extend the useful life of a home and allow it to evolve alongside the families that grown within.

Outside of work, Meghan spends time with her husband, juggling her two toddlers and three dogs, usually with her camera in hand.

William Cawood

Architect

William is an architect specializing in the design of new houses and the renovation of existing homes. Practicing architecture since 1998, William has spent his career working on residential architecture guided by local historic forms and design methods. He is skilled at integrating design with surrounding features, whether that be an addition on a historic house or a new home in an existing neighborhood. William's design philosophy is that architecture should enrich the daily life of its users, and he seeks to add the small details that make a house a home.

William is involved with each project from the beginning designs through construction. He is an integral member of the team during concept design and project scope development. At the conclusion of the design phase, he provides the architectural and structural plans required by the construction team and permit officials. During construction he assists the site supervisors in resolving any questions relating to construction, and reviews sub-contractor shop drawings. He also evaluates any changes to the building designs during construction. His work throughout the project is focused on realizing the client’s evolving vision.

William holds a Masters degree in Architecture and Urban Design from the Catholic University of America, and is licensed to practice in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. He is an architect member of the American Institute of Architects and is a professional member of the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture.

Jim Harper

Site Superintendent

Jim has worked in various positions in high-end Custom Home Building for over 25 years. He spent many years in Northern Virginia before venturing out to Colorado and then returned to the area in 2009.

Jim has been a carpenter, a bricklayer, a Superintendent, a Project Manager, a general contractor, and more. Out of all those positions, Jim has found that he both enjoys and excels at being the “boots on the ground” Site Superintendent. His extensive experience allows him to thoughtfully and strategically manage his jobsites and serve as a liaison between the office team, the subcontractors, and the clients during the construction process. Jim is driven by a desire to ensure that every aspect of his projects meets the standards of excellence that are set forth by Matthew Bowe Design Build and that are expected by our clients.

Jim is an upbeat and optimistic person who cultivates a positive atmosphere both in his work life and his free time. He is an avid hiker, golfer, and dog lover and you are most likely to find him with his English Setter Joe Joe by his side.

Andy Owens

Site Superintendent

As a person who has always found purpose in working with his hands, Andy was naturally drawn into the field of construction. He has 30+ years of experience in many aspects of the building industry. He has worked in sales and management for a national retailer of building materials and operated his own building and remodeling firm for many years.

Andy has found that he excels when he is able to become fully immersed in a project, staying hands-on and seeing tangible results on a construction site. His knowledge of building along with his attention to detail set him apart from most, but it is his passion for making homeowners happy by delivering a quality-built home that drives him to pursue excellence on every project.

As a Superintendent for Matthew Bowe Design Build, Andy works on-site full time and is responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of our projects. His connections with our clients, design team, and field staff help to create a seamless process that our clients truly appreciate.

Andy is married with two adult sons. When he isn't building, he enjoys running, hiking, and other outdoor adventures. Given the option of working without pay, Andy would want to serve others in some capacity, particularly as a youth mentor or park ranger.

Chase McNelis

Project Manager

Chase was born and raised in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  After attending Coastal Carolina University, Chase pursued a career in law enforcement before ultimately turning to the construction industry in 2003, rising through the ranks of a large home builder in northern Virginia.

In 2018 Chase was searching for a new opportunity in the custom residential world and joined the team at Matthew Bowe Design Build. He is responsible for the financial management and oversight of all our projects. Chase collaborates with our trade partners and suppliers to define scopes of work and establish project costs. He works alongside our architecture and design team, as well as our clients, during the entire evolution of project design, plans and specifications. He is also responsible for ensuring that projects maintain the highest quality standards while remaining on schedule and on budget.

Chase’s experience in project management, financial analysis, trade partner management and field operations, is the foundation that supports and advances our projects from the conceptual realm to reality in a highly sophisticated and well-managed, client-centric experience.

Outside of work, Chase is passionate about time with his wife and children whether that is coaching his children’s sports teams or passing on his love of the outdoors by introducing them to the finer points of hunting and fishing.

Del Hepler

Assistant Project Manager

A native Virginian, Del received both his undergraduate degree and a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Virginia. Eager to broaden his horizons after graduation and to learn all aspects of the design-build industry, he has since worked for both architecture and design-build firms in New York, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

Del believes the spaces we live in have a profound impact on our personal well-being. He decided to pursue residential work to improve peoples’ lives through the spaces he helps create. Del believes good design and quality construction can promote joy, comfort, and wellness.

Del joined Matthew Bowe Design Build in 2020 upon return to his home state. He finds that his background as an Architect provides an added dimension to construction oversight and project management. As an Assistant Project Manager, Del works closely with our Site Superintendents, subcontractors, and design staff to coordinate details, facilitate communication between project participants, and to ensure that the team has what they need, when they need it to build beautiful homes for our clients.

Outside of work, Del enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, golfing, and designing and hand-building custom furniture.
